She received this scholarship for placing third at the Diocesan level competition for her Capstone Project. She was scored on her paper and the oral, visual, and interactive portion of her presentation. In the fall, Sarah plans to attend Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, and study political science and pre-law.
Sarah is the daughter of Christopher and Kathleen Jannings of Benton Harbor.

It is with great pride we announce and congratulate the finalists of this year's Capstone Projects: Andrew Glotzbach and Sarah Jannings!
Andrew and Sarah will now move on to the Diocesan level competition seeking scholarships that range from $500-$5,000. This is an incredible achievement as a senior and one that is held to the highest honors at OLL and the Diocese of Kalamazoo. Congratulations and Good Luck!
Capstone: After their time in the building blocks of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, students continue to learn and live their faith throughout their time in our Catholic Schools. For our high school students, their academic careers culminate with their Senior Capstone Project. The Capstone Project is a graduation requirement that began during the 2015-16 school year. It originated to assist our students in being better prepared to defend their faith.
The Capstone Project requires a student to research a particular topic of interest to them surrounding faith, write a paper and present their findings to a panel of judges at their respective schools. The winning papers this year were entitled Homosexuality as a Disordered Desire - Glotzbach and No Salvation Outside the Church - Jannings. Each school’s top finalists move on to present to a panel of judges at the Diocesan level and compete for a St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship ranging in value from $500 - $5,000.
Andrew is the son of Patrick and Tracy Glotzbach of St. Joseph.
Sarah is the daughter of Christopher and Kathleen Jannings of Benton Harbor.
